If you have nail fungus infections (like toenail fungus), strong sugar cravings, major seasonal allergies, recurrent vaginal infections, mood swings (irritability, anxiety, depression), skin rashes, brain fog, fatigue, GI problems among other issues, you may have a problem with Candida or other related fungi. Sugar feeds the yeast and worsens your symptoms so the first thing you need to do is cut out sugar as much as possible from your diet . This may include avoiding all forms of sugar including carbohydrates (wheat, corn, rice, quinoa, etc.).

Below is a list of some well-known antifungal herbs that we successfully use to get rid of all forms of fungi.

Calendula

Calendula is an annual herb with yellow to orange flowers, native to the Mediterranean region (1). This plant has been shown to contain several compounds that are strong anti-yeast. You can take it either by mouth or apply on the skin.

Pau D’arco

Pau d’arco is native to South America, where it has been used to treat a wide range of conditions, including pain, arthritis, inflammation of the prostate gland (prostatitis), fever, dysentery, boils and ulcers, and various cancers (2). One of the best herbs we use to treat Candida overgrowth.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera creates an environment that impacts Candida’s development. Aloe Vera has anti-fungal and anti-cancer properties. It also very beneficial for healing the intestines and any other of the GI tract.

Garlic

Fresh garlic is a powerful anti-fungal fighter, yet it does not destroy the beneficial bacteria in the intestines. It is an old remedy to boost the immune system and fight off various infections

Clove oil

Clove oil is yet another very powerful anti-fungal fighter, which also possesses abilities of strengthening the immune system.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is another powerful anti-fungal agent with an abundance of numerous beneficial properties. Consume at least a teaspoon of the oil 1-2 times a day.

Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is another well-known anti-fungal. May not be the strongest anti-yeast, but it can be very beneficial as a supporting tool to fight it off.

Oregano oil

Oregano oil is strong antifungal that we use regularly. Oregano oil is also very rich in antioxidants. You can either take it internally or apply it on the skin.

Black walnut

Black walnut has been proven to be very effective against the fungus Candida (3). Actually, it was  shown to combat Candida better than several commercial antifungal drugs.
